The Duo Photometer plus is characterised by an extraordinary high accuracy of the test results. It is assured primarily by the measuring principle, which is based upon the reliable wet-chemical photometric method. Continuous inspections by independent reference institutions (INSTAND and DGKL) ensure the user a constant high quality of the device and reagent. The reagent is ready for use and supplied in round cuvettes. Only the sample needs to be added.
The carrying case, which contains all required accessories as well as the minicentrifuge, guarantees the user’s mobility at any time. The „Bilirubinometer“ is particularly suitable for midwives in the field, birth places, and newborn wards in hospitals.
The measuring of Bilirubin of neonates is indispensable during the first 14 days of their lives and, therefore, is counted among the basis programme of the examination of neonates. The complete system „Bilirubinometer“ for the determination of Neonatal Bilirubin in capillary blood was developed especially for the Bedside Testing of neonates.
We recommend the use of safety lancets (1.5 mm) for blood sampling from the heel as it is particularly gentle. Only two to three drops of blood in the microvette ® are required in order to obtain 10 µL plasma in the minicentrifuge. This small sample quantity enables the Bilirubin measurement. Measuring time: 90 seconds
The device is ready for use immediately after switching on, calibration is not required. All filters are installed, and you only need to select the parameter to start the measurement.
Lamp replacement is no longer required with the use of modern diode technology.
The device saves all measured values and is suitable for use as a portable device with its low weight. Data transfer and evaluation is made simple with easily understandable software. Testing is very simple with only a small drop of blood required.
